I am a new media journalist based in the Washington, DC area.
Currently, I'm a Multimedia Producer for Congressional Quarterly.
Previously, I worked for the World Bank Institute's B-SPAN, an Internet video
archive for the Bank, where I also produced the Best of B-SPAN podcast
series (the Bank's first podcasts) and internationally-broadcast radio
shows. I write freelance journalism in my spare time, and my writing has
been published in Northern
Virginia Magazine, The
Escapist, and Ars Technica.
I was also a political and cultural correspondent for the Washington
Asia Press, where I wrote much of the paper's Election 2004 coverage,
including its series on Asian-Americans and the issues.
I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, but graduated from George Mason University in 2004 with a Bachelor's in Communication. I speak Spanish (awkwardly) and Mandarin (badly). I've visited China, Mexico, France, and Belgium. I'm also an experimental musician, playing rock music on a bass guitar and loop pedal.
This portfolio features clippings from my writing, ranging from local news to analysis to editorials. Samples of my multimedia production work can be found under audio, with more available by request. I've collected some of my less embarrassing fiction in the corresponding section. Finally, you'll find some of my older programming projects for Windows CE in the code section.
